Voice disorder
As some of you know, I have started working at the local college teaching History and Varieties of English. There I met a bloke who teaches voice production to students. When I talked to him (he is a doctor - a speech therapist) he noticed that my vocal chords sound as if they were really tense and uptight. He offered some help, but since I have had the problem of hoarse/husky voice (probably as a result of glottis insufficiency) ever since I was a child, he said it's gonna be really difficult to fix it. But he also said that 90% of whether we will have a successful outcome is up to me.
If anyone is interested in what kind of stuff he tells me to do (vioce / vocal exercises) I'll try and post some on here. Next week, maybe. now, I am off to study how voice is produced and what my voice disorder is really about.

head up high
Firstly, apparently I am one of the members who have the greates number of songs on here, haha. Just checked it - it's true. I am proud of myself, I can say
Secondly, instead of writing my MA thesis on translating neologisms from English into Polish I am in fact writing a blog seemingly without any reason. Actually, it's my first blog ever, soo... again I am quite proud of myself
Thirdly, today I have talked to a guy who does karaoke shows with my girlfriend (and is a drummer) and we might do a couple of gig sometime in the future. Some of my songs and some cover songs ... Again, I am proud of myself to be open to the world and possibilities it brings.
Fourthly, as usually, I will be spending more time on music soon, I hope. There are a couple of songs that need some lyrics (any Polish lyric writers out there who are willing to help me?) and also need finishing. Again, I will most probably be very proud of myself if you turn out to like them after I have posted them on here.
Keep you fingers crossed for me. GTG.

By your side
Drums recorded live in my friend's garage (played by Pawel)
The rest by the humble me.
I believe I might have uploaded this song before...
We'be been trying to do this song with the band. Is there anything that the song's missing in terms of instrumentation, arrangement etc? Would you change anything in it?

Audience attention???
The band's music (songs) aside, do you have any tricks or trusted formulas to get the full attention of the audience throughout a concert/gig?
How about clothes, different instruments, or things you do on stage, etc, anything really?
Maybe there are things you have found to be disastrous when done or performed on stage?
Are there any things you hate to see the band do on stage when you're watching a gig?
My first suggestion is never to give your bandmates a surprised look or a look full of hatered when they have made a mistake or screwd sth up in a song, say a wrong chord. I guess you just have to smile along cause the audience will definitely notice what's happened. When I was watching a video of a concert of an unknown band and saw the surprised faces once the bass player made a mistake, I felt it should never have happened.
BTW - very cool video by Travis

UCiEC
A completely new song. Played by the band (Bart on piano, Przemek on bass, Jacek on el guit, and me on acc guitar, lead and backing vocals) except for drums which had to be sampled at this point, but will probably be changed to a degree sometime later.
What do you think?
The lyrics are - very roughly - as follows:
Why don't we run away for a while?
you know, leave and don't come for a day or two, you and I?
Let's just split, walk in the clouds
so that the world doesn't come running after us
Somewhere between dream and reality
A few moments to start living again
Somewhere between night and day
A couple of moments to be together
I hope you like it. What I am looking for are suggestions on how to make it a bit better, if possible. Looking forwards to yr crits.
